Job location: Based in Kathmandu and frequently to travel to organization program working area.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Rural Development, Public Health, Migration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of work experience in program implementation within the development sector.
- Strong understanding of human rights, labor migration, human trafficking, women’s and youth rights, and a rights-based approach.
- Knowledge of local and regional contexts, particularly on issues related to human rights and migration.
- Excellent training facilitation, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to write and communicate effectively in both Nepali and English.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the annual project plan is implemented effectively, with all activities documented as per standards and reported in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and communicate with district and central teams to ensure effective program outcomes aligned with the organization’s goals and vision.
- Undertake program activities effectively, producing and documenting evidence (data, photos, reports) at the field level.
- Support researchers and thematic consultants in planning and conducting research on Violence Against Women (VAW), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), migration, refugee issues, and human rights.
- Monitor progress, ensure quality by tracking program implementation, and report on a timely basis, making necessary adjustments for successful project completion.
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), child rights, and human rights, collaborating with CSOs to advocate for safe migration at the community level.
- Assist the Project Coordinator, Program Officer, and counselors in developing annual, quarterly, and monthly activity plans, and coordinate with human rights activists to implement activities effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the concerned supervisor.
- Perform periodic reviews of project budgets versus expenditures, with support from the Finance Unit, ensuring activities are planned within budget constraints.
- Lead and coordinate all capacity enhancement activities within the project.
- Supervise field-level staff, collect their timesheets, reports, and weekly updates, and provide guidance aligned with project objectives.
- Organize training, workshops, interaction programs, and public hearings, including managing logistics at the community and local government (palika) levels.
- Conduct activities from a feminist and women’s human rights perspective.
- Identify issues to address during events and programs, working towards continuous improvement.
- Strengthen community partnerships through structured dialogues and communication.
- Organize and analyze cases of violence against women, including preparing case studies.
- Work flexibly according to organizational and project needs.
