Job Description:
- Environment and planning applications including liaison with regulatory bodies.
- Specifying and managing specialist sub-contractors - you will be involved in negotiating mitigation measures
- Working with designers and estimators to reach a compromise between any technical or environmental constraints and the economic viability of the project's options.
- Producing sections for Environmental Statements based on specialist technical/ Environmental reports (often provided by others)
- Occasional site visits (very often to remote sites) and meetings with regulators and surveyors.
- Assembling and checking the planning consents, so that they are consistent, and of good quality.
- Writing technical and environmental standards
- Work as part of a team to suggest improvements that will benefit our clients.
Qualifications:
- A formal environmental or scientific qualification (degree, Masters's)
- Good knowledge of environmental fieldwork, production of Environmental Statements, and environmental regulation.
- Ability to balance the needs of development and conservation
- Be computer literate and ideally have a working knowledge of mapping or graphical software.
- Hydro/aquatic experience including flow monitoring would be useful
- Strong quantitative, writing, communication, and analytical skills
- High proficiency in MS office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail
- Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks
- Able to communicate externally in a clear English language and in an approachable manner.
Shift Work:
- The post will be required to undertake some shift work (early or late)
- Some weekend work may be required from time to time
- Overtime will be paid where appropriate.
