Job Title: Field Officer – Livelihood 


Reports to: MEAL officer


Project: SPROUTS Project – TLMN 


Location: Bardaghat and Kawasoti 

 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, local authorities, and the public to gain support for and participation in livelihood, gender equality, and climate resilience activities
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, awareness sessions, and orientation programs to educate and mobilize the community on gender equality, social inclusion, and climate change adaptation.
  • Form the SHG and encourage for community-based savings and credit in group
  • Conduct financial literacy training and support the seed money for each SHG
  • Support SHG to trap the resources of livelihood of the working Palikas
  • Provide training on group dynamics, leadership skills, and income-generating activities to promote economic empowerment among SHG members.
  • Assess local livelihood opportunities and support the implementation of income-generating activities for SHG members.
  • Organize the Business planning training for selection suitable the entrepreneurship and micro-enterprise
  • Facilitate access to training, resources, and market linkages to strengthen sustainable livelihood practices and economic resilience.
  • Facilitate access to training, resources, and market linkages for income generation, fostering sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment in support of the BDO.
  • Conduct workshops and orientations on GESI, emphasizing the empowerment of women and marginalized groups in decision-making and leadership roles.
  • Support the establishment and capacity building of women's groups and committees to enhance their participation in community development initiatives.
  • Conduct the orientation on GESI and domestic violence for SHG members including community people
  • Provide the orientation on climate change and its effects on environment, health and livelihood for SHG members and community people
  • Raise awareness about climate change impacts and adaptation strategies through targeted community outreach and educational campaigns.
  • Collaborate with community members to implement climate resilience activities such as tree planting, water conservation, and sustainable agriculture practices.
  • Facilitate to develop the disaster, CC policy and LAPA for working municipality
  • Collect the baseline/mid-term/end line data of the project activities, outcomes, and impacts to ensure effective program monitoring and evaluation.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, case studies, and success stories for internal and external stakeholders, in collaboration with the MEAL team.
  • Work closely with project management, M&E officers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, timely reporting, and achievement of project milestones.
  • Any other task assigned by the reporting manager.

 

Job Specification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Environmental Science, agriculture or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, project implementation, data collection, and reporting, preferably in the development sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and engage with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of livelihoods, gender equality, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability and disability issues.
  • Experience in facilitating training sessions, workshops, and community mobilization activities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizes tasks, and manages time effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Fluency in Nepali language, both written and spoken. Knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with local contexts, customs, and cultures in Nawalpur and Nawalparasi districts is preferred.
  • Two-wheeler driving license is required.
