Position: Finance Assistant


Duty Station: Kathmandu


Working Hour: 60% - 24 Hours (3 days per week)


Expected joining date: 15 September 2024

 

Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator and direct supervision of the Finance Manager, S/he will be taking the responsibility of tasks in accounting/finance and procurement as follows;

  • Prepare vouchers, collect, and arrange the supporting documents in sequential/chronological order
  • Assist in reviewing and checking financial reports and documents/invoices submitted by the service providers (consultants) and Local contribution contract (recipients/partners)
  • Regular communication with partner NGOs for monitoring and support
  • Correspond and follow-up with service providers and Local contribution contract (LCC) recipients as required, and process for the financial settlement
  • Liaison with GIZ Country office, banks, and other institutions
  • Prepare payment voucher to make payments to the service providers and Partners
  • Process for VAT refund claim and assist in Tax payment and verification process (etds online)
  • Make travel settlement of participants during workshops, meetings, and other programs.
  • Provide support in maintaining and updating the filing system and labeling/numbering of vouchers as per GIZ standard
  • Assist Finance manager in processing of consulting contracts and Local contribution contracts
  • Support CPS partner organizations for preparing settlement documents
  • Take over and carry out any additional tasks assigned by Supervisor.

 

Required qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration/management/business area or similar area
  • 2 years of working experience in comparable position specially in NGO/INGOs
  • Good knowledge of accounting software
  • Ability to work with project staff, implementing partners staff, and vendors.
  • A good team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Nepali (both written and verbal)
  • MS Office package (word, excel, PowerPoint), internet and email use (essential).
