Duty Station: Kathmandu 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the contact for matters relating to the procurement, installation and maintenance of hardware and software in accordance with current GIZ standards
  • Ensure that the hardware and software used is operational at all times
  • Observe the current IT security standards in particular
  • Ensure GIZ IT and management systems operate and function correctly in Nepal
  • Implement and comply GIZ IT standard/policy and GIZ software
  • Coordinate all issues within your area of work and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and competently
  • Solve problems that arise in your area of responsibility on the basis of existing rules and draw attention to more complex challenges in your team
  • In cooperation with DIGITS you are involved in ongoing instrument and process development within your remit
  • Responsible for knowledge management and prepare and share document mentation
  • Provide technical support to projects/programs relating IT and database
  • Develop and implement a regular update and backup system
  • Assume responsibility for procuring IT Hardware/Software
  • Install and maintain the LAN (Local Area Network) and maintaining systems documentation / LAN configuration
  • Install and maintain the Cisco Meraki Devices
  • Develop and implement the security measures organization needs to protect their information assets in a secure system
  • Support for knowledge management of country office as well projects/programs
  • Provide recommendations for upgrading of existing systems and accessories (for PCs and network systems)
  • Ensure routine, professional maintenance of the necessary hardware of GIZ Nepal.

 

Required qualification and experience:

  • At least Bachelors/Master’s Degree in IT Studies with MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) certification or CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or Power BI or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) / Certified Ethical Hacker
  • At least 5 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
  • Sound technical knowledge in Windows 11 and Windows server 2019
  • Deep understanding of network management, cybersecurity and Information Security
  • Experience in troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Outstanding working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. Office 365)
  • Good knowledge of the English language both speaking and writing.
