Job Summary:
In close coordination with project team s/he is responsible for providing legal aid support to vulnerable girls; transferring legal knowledge to children, teachers, community leaders and members of the committees; enhancing capacities of Girl Advocacy Groups (GAGs) and local child right committees with legal knowledge and service support. S/he is responsible also to coordinate and work closely with local government officials and relevant stakeholder. This position reports to District Project Officer.
Key qualification and competencies:
- At least Bachelor Degree in Law with valid advocate license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in non-government organizations
- Sound knowledge on gender, child rights, child protection, child friendly local governance and local government structures.
- Has skill to coordinate with municipal level stakeholders and deliver training contents to Girl Advocacy Groups (GAGs), and co-facilitate stakeholders’ training
- Adequate computer skill, such as Microsoft Office.
- Able to communicate effectively and have good facilitation skill
- Has knowledge and skill of preparing case studies, success stories and writing reports.
- Must be Fluent in English and Nepali (written and spoken).
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide legal aid support to girls
- Facilitate to enhance legal knowledge of girls, teachers, community leaders and members of the committees.
- In close coordination with project team design and deliver capacity enhancement sessions to Girl Advocacy Groups (GAGs) with legal knowledge, legal provisions and policies against trafficking and for child protection and safeguarding.
- Work in the Project team including GAGs for planning implementation and monitoring of the activities and advocacy initiatives.
- Coordinate/build relationship and work closely with local government officials, committees (judicial, LCRC) and relevant stakeholders to achieve the program objectives.
- Document the good practices and report to the District Project Officer/Project Coordinator.
- Support in Preparation of Monthly, Periodic, Quarterly and Annual Reports.
