Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.

 

Required experience:

  • 4 years of experience in managing programmes, developing project proposal / concept notes and policy support on Human Security, climate resilience, disaster management, and other related fields
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience in managing successful engagement and coordination with key policymakers, experts, CSO, NGO, private sector, and research institutions, particularly in the area of Human security, climate, and disaster risk reduction
  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience leading and/or implementing development programs, formulation of projects in Nepal and in the region
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis of Human Security- linking with climate, disaster with various types of analyses is desirable
  • Experience working in an international organization and multi-cultural environment is desirable
  • Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including business entities, grassroots community members, youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment
  •  Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines
  •  Sound security awareness
  •  Have affinity with or interest in international issues and SDGs, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.

  • English, Level/Fluent, Required
  • Nepalese, Level/Fluent, Required.

 

Required education level: Master degree or equivalent in disaster management, environmental Sciences/management, international development, international relations, political science, risk management, or other relevant fields.
