Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct a comprehensive political economy analysis of foreign labor migration from Madhesh province.
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to understand the drivers, impacts, and implications of migration on the Madheshi community and broader socio-economic dynamics.
- Identify key stakeholders and engage in dialogue to gather diverse perspectives and insights and explore the role of provinces and local governments in managing the issue.
- Produce high-quality reports, policy briefs, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partners to develop and design evidence-based interventions and advocacy strategies aimed at promoting the rights and well-being of migrant workers and their families.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Master's degree or equivalent in economics, development studies, sociology, political science, Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in conducting research and analysis on migration, labor markets, or political economy issues, preferably in the context of Nepal/Madhesh.
- Proven track record of leading research projects, including designing methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and producing high-quality outputs.
- Strong understanding of political economy frameworks and methodologies, with the ability to apply them to migration studies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in English and Nepali lang.
Duration: Initially 3 months of probation period and likely to be extended based on scope of the project and available funding.
