Reports to: Senior Program Manager (Fellowship)

 

Opening date: 1st September 2024

 

Closing date: 31st December 2024

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Create a teaching environment using locally available resources/materials.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly plans.
  • Excite your children to learn in an entertaining manner.
  • Promote student learning by addressing individual learning differences (guide and provide extra help to the children who are slow in learning).
  • Help existing teachers with improving their teaching skills (Remember: I am the best attitude will not help work with government teachers; only collaborative and demonstrative attitude will bring change).
  • Make learning relevant by connecting student’s prior knowledge and experiences to the learning process (use your surrounding environment to teach lessons).
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with students and check for understanding through reinforcing daily objectives, learning goals, and expectations throughout lessons.
  • Ask UWS Education Officers for required teaching materials.
  • Deal with parents’ complaints with care and proper strategy (Don’t do it alone. Work it in coordination with the team).
  • Call parents’ meeting once a month. Attendance must be monitored (mandatory).
  • Be approachable to community members for school improvement.
  • Be a listener.
  • Work in collaboration with the School principal, to conduct a weekly teacher planning and leadership meeting on a regular basis.
  • Create a monthly school report, monitoring and an evaluation report.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and work on its improvement, if needed.
  • Plan activities in the school in coordination with the principal and teachers (discuss the budget with the principal).

 

Requirements:

  • Valid Nepali Citizenship
  • Minimum Educational Qualification Bachelor’s Degree
  • Willingness to commit 2 years to the Fellowship Program
  • Excellent English and Nepali Speaking and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in teamwork
  • Desire to learn and grow.
