Reports to: Manager- Housing & Construction Technologies
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support and involve in the National Bamboo Guideline being developed by Habitat Nepal with Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC).
- Learn and Work with Research Assistants and consultant for the laboratory testing of Bamboo for the guideline development.
- Engage in research and development of appropriate housing technologies.
- Produce the drawings sets and technical documents for Habitat Nepal housing projects.
- Prepare sketches and 3D models for the Bamboo guideline.
- Assist in communication and coordination with DUDBC, Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) and other line agencies when required for different projects and events.
- Visit Habitat project sites as needed for survey, layouts and construction supervision and monitoring.
- Provide support in preparation of BoQ, survey data and field visit reports.
- Involve in construction market surveys and analysis.
- Take part in vernacular studies conducted in different areas of Nepal to identify traditional housing typologies and practices.
- Support different departments and units of Habitat Nepal for housing and shelter related activities.

Education Qualification and Professional Experience:
- Candidate with bachelor’s degree in architecture.
- Fresh graduate, prior work experience not required.
- The candidate must have good knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Any Rendering software (3Dmax or Revit preferred).
- Interested in learning and working for sustainable materials like bamboo.
- Good Facilitation, communication and writing skills.
- Good Interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken Nepali and English language.
