Based on funding availability and program need, the position may also be extended beyond the initial 60-month contract.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>The Environment/Eco-tourism Program Manager will:</strong></p> <ol> <li><strong>Project Management Lead:</strong>&nbsp;Working under the responsibility of the Director of Programming and Training, supports the projects under his/her responsibility in compliance with Peace Corps procedures and guidelines. Participates fully in the development of the annual budget and program plan for the Country Program as it relates to the Environment/Eco-tourism program areas.</li> <li><strong>Technical Training Lead</strong>: Takes lead on designing and implementing technical training during Volunteer Pre-Service Training (PST), In-Service Training (IST), and Mid-Service Training (MST). Oversees the contributions of resource Volunteers, Technical Trainers, and resource experts at PST and ISTs. Identifies and manages the resource needs of the PST and IST.</li> <li><strong>Volunteer Support:</strong>&nbsp;Serves as the environment and eco-tourism focal person and provides technical backstopping support to Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs). Carries out continuous PCV/PCRV job performance assessments and provides technical advice and personal counseling as appropriate.</li> <li><strong>Stakeholder Relations</strong>: Initiates and maintains close liaison with relevant Government of Nepal Ministries; other Government offices at the federal, provincial, and local levels; and other organizations working in related fields. Maintains lines of communication and correspondence (in host country official language(s) if &ndash; appropriate) with host government and host agency officials.</li> <li><strong>Safety, Security, and Well Being</strong>: Collaborate closely with the Safety &amp; Security Manager (SSM) and medical staff during site identification trips and field visits to ensure minimum housing standards and health requirements are met and assist in gathering any background information necessary in the process of determining the safety, security, and well-being of Volunteers.</li> <li><strong>Other Duties as Assigned</strong>: Perform other duties or assignments, when deemed necessary by the Country Director or designee, for the successful implementation of Peace Corps program(s) and/or operations in Nepal.</li> </ol> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ol> <li><strong>Education:</strong> University Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Forestry, Environment/Tourism or related field, plus a minimum of FOUR years of related work experience.</li> <li><strong>Prior Work Experience:</strong> Minimum of 4 years of related work experience, preferably with American or other international organizations, and preferably organizations that achieve their mission through volunteerism.
